DFS 沖縄 那覇店 — Attraction in Naha

So confusing. I understand that this is meant for tourism, and it is duty free...but can anyone without an international or domestic flight shop here, and just pay regular prices???? Biggest issue was Marc Jacobs not having an actual store, it is only a wall... despite review photos I saw from 7 months ago... there's no information about how to purchase anything from that wall. It is all weird and confusing.

EDIT: There’s only a few stores you can shop at that aren’t duty free brands if you DO NOT have an international or domestic flight out of Okinawa. Most stores are duty free and You cannot purchase any duty free items without a flight out unfortunately.

I wish there were an option to be able to purchase duty free products, but at regular prices so it’s a win win for everyone...

My wife and I recently moved to Okinawa for work. She wanted a nice Christmas present from a luxury retailer, and we were thrilled to find this shopping center. We drove there today (Christmas Day) and found each other some nice presents at the YSL and Mont Blanc stores, however we were REJECTED at checkout as ONLY international travelers who are leaving Okinawa (with airplane tickets) are allowed to shop at the T Galleria.

If you reside on Okinawa, you are not permitted to buy anything! I understand that Duty Free applies to travelers, why can’t we purchase & be charged the normal Japan tax as residents? This is an idiotic policy, and hurts business as well as all people living and...
