When you pay for the castle you pay for the musuem too! A great place to learn about the history of the area. They have an English packet you can take and explains the areas of museums. Some of the signs have very little English. There is 2 lower levels. The end leaves you in the bottom floor. Takes credit card and yen. Plenty of parking. Has vending machine and bathrooms inside.

Located beside the parking lot for the Nakijin Castle. Entry is included in your ticket. Definitely worth a stop. Lots of interesting information around the history of Nakijin. Including artifacts. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. There is also an interesting restroom that has an art installation.

If you're at the castle anyway definitely swing by this museum for a walk through. There's a wide range of items from daily life, cultural context, and history available. It won't take you very long to walk through both floors.

今帰仁城跡のおまけのようなつもりで行ったんですが、とても良かった。今帰仁村の生活だけでなく埋葬方法まで展示があり、後々歴史を振り返ったときの参考になるだろうと思わせるものでした。ぜひ寄っていきましょう！さっと見るだけでも。 あと、今だけかも知れませんが小学校の子が壁新聞で自分達の字のよい所紹介されていたのが興味深かったです。その字行きたいと思わす訴求力のあるものでした。当分貼っといて欲しいなあ… また今度はゆっくり今帰仁村を歩いてみたいなと思いました。 あ、ここで売っていた500円の今帰仁の文化財のガイドブックとても良いですよ。一冊目が今帰仁城跡で二冊目が今帰仁村の文化財の特集でその後出ているようです。カラーで画像いっぱいで読みごたえ見ごたえがあります。今帰仁城跡がもっと知りたいと思ったらこのガイドブックがお薦めです。
