The museum itself is a traditional thatched roof house located within the village. There's a small entry fee to explore the traditional home, which contains household items from a bygone era.

#京都(Kyoto) #美山(Miyama) The entrance fee is 300 yen, but I found it to be well worth the price. Inside, they have restored the most primitive thatched-roof village houses, allowing you to clearly imagine the way people used to live, from everyday objects to the attic and even the restroom. While other thatched-roof village houses have likely been modernized, if you want to see the most authentic representation, this is the place to visit. 入場費要300日圓，但我覺得相當值回票價，裡頭還原最原始的合掌村的屋子，可以清楚地透過展示品去想像當初人的生活模樣，不管是從生活器具、閣樓、廁所等。其他的合掌村屋子應該都已經現代化，想看最原始的模樣可以來這邊看看

Nice showroom of olden days thatched house. Reception lady is inflexible. We stepped out of the entrance for less than 30 seconds and 2 metres away from the entrance. We want to return inside the house as we had missed out a section of the house. We were disallowed and asked to buy another 300JPY tickets to re-enter again. Totally inflexible!

Beautiful haven for off the beaten track tourists. Authentic displays of thatched houses and contents from yesteryear. Lovely outdoor cafe looking out over the valley.
