Nyudozaki Lighthouse — Attraction in Oga

he first lighthouse was built in 1898,[4] a white hexagon 24.4 meter steel tower.It was electrified with a 1,500W lamp in 1932 and manned until 1972, when it transitioned to automatic control. From 1973 Nyudozaki carries a continuous white spotlight that shines on the Mizushima Islet about 1,000 meters to the north. It is currently one of the 16 Japanese lighthouses which is open to the public, who may climb to the top for a panoramic view over the Sea of Japan (not available in winter season). 秋田県男鹿市の男鹿半島西北端にある「入道埼灯台(にゅうどうさき)」を訪れました。(灯台にはこの「埼」) 《＊海軍がこの「埼」を使用していたことに由来》 全国にある登れる灯台16基のうちの一つです。登れる灯台16のスタンプラリーをしているので、遠路遙々行って来ました。(冬季、天候により休業あり) ちなみに、日本の灯台は3000基超ありますが、登れるのはわずか16基。全国に16ヵ所しかありません。 また、入道埼灯台は「日本の灯台50選」に選ばれています。

男鹿半島の西北端、北緯40度線上の絶景にそびえ立つ入道崎の象徴でもあるこの灯台は、黒白の横縞模様が印象的で、高さ27.92mの大型灯台です。 北緯40度線上の灯台としては、太平洋側の岩手県普代村にある陸中黒埼灯台と対をなしています。

男鹿半島は予想以上に広大ですが、灯台に行く道中にはしっかり案内板があり、道も舗装された走りやすい道なので心配ご無用です。

灯台付近は広大な草原が一面に広がり、パノラマ上に広がる青い海と空の絶妙なコントラストは圧巻でした。 ただ、草原の花粉が原因なのか、花粉症でもないのに目がみるみるうちに痒くなり、鼻水までもが…泣 時期を選んで行かれた方がいいかもしれません。

入道崎は男鹿国定公園内にあり、日本海を臨む景勝地として名高く、海に沈む夕日が大変美しいことでも有名です。

駐車場はしっかりと整備されていて、名物料理を味わえる飲食店や土産店も立ち並んでいます。

Good place on the edge of Japan. Good views makes it a good place to relax. I would suggest to go here during sunset but there is a boat ride which you can do till 4:00 in the evening. Can't say how good...
