This was my second time visiting the Nyoirinji Frog Temple. The first time, it was crowded with tourists, but this time it was much quieter and peaceful. I’ve never been to a temple with so many frog statues—there are probably enough to set a world record for the largest collection! And on top of all the frogs, there were random animal statues scattered around, like a rabbit, a bear, and one that looked suspiciously like Pikachu! It felt more like a theme park than a traditional temple or sacred place of worship. They even had a frog bubble machine that blew bubbles every few minutes. Around the back, near the area where you buy charms, there’s a little museum room filled with frog figures and toys—quite quirky! Some visitors went inside the main hall to pray, but the whole atmosphere felt a bit comical to me, especially since I wasn’t sure about the significance of all the frogs. Still, it was a unique experience and definitely fun...

Beautiful Temple that concentrates on frogs. There is an endless amount of frig statues everywhere along with dragons.

Admission and parking are Free.

This Temple is a one stop place for love, health, luck, peace, prosperity, etc.

There wasn't a wait or a large crowd on Friday 5 Jan 2024. The weather was very nice, not too cold and comfortable. I didn't interact with the Staff but the grounds were clean and the area was organized.

The parking area was very small near the Temple, there is more parking located around the area.

Highly recommended to visit and experience this Temple, even if you...

My favorite place from the whole prefecture. With hundreds of different shaped and sized frog statues, carvings, sculptures and fountains, the temple has a soothing atmosphere. I recommend to visit during summer in the windchime season. Their sound can't be compared to anything else. Even during the hottest days, you can chill there or take a rest after hiking. You can easily spend there the whole day. The souvenirs are incredibly adorable. You can even buy your own windchime in any colour and omamori with a hidden glass frog inside 🐸! Please visit and worship the...
