Murakumo Zuiryu Temple — Attraction in Omihachiman

Definitely worths the visit. Not all my photos show the actual temple, but the things you'll see on your way to the top.

The temple itself has a significant historical background, but what mesmerizes the eye first is the view from the mountain. The walking path has a circle shape and it is not very long, so you can see everything on the mountain in about an hour. But do take your time to look for nice details.

京都府京都市右京区嵯峨二尊院門前往生院町22にあるに日蓮宗唯一の尼門跡寺院である瑞龍寺(ずいりゅう-じ)がありました。その後瑞龍寺は昭和36年に滋賀県近江八幡市にうつされました。 秀次の首塚は、のこされています。

八幡山城趾にある日蓮宗唯一の門跡寺院。豊臣秀次の菩提を弔うために生母・日秀尼[にっしゅうに]が創建したもので、当初は京都にあった。境内からは近江八幡市街や琵琶湖を一望することができる。石で妙法と書かれた庭や、八幡山城時代の石垣などが山門の左右にある。山頂までは八幡山ロープウェイを利し、往復950円かかります。

豊臣秀次の流れを振り返ります。 安土城は1582年廃城 1585年八幡山城完成 1591年秀次聚楽第にはいる 1595年高野山柳の間で自害7月 8月に京都三条河原で側室自害させられる 1596年生母・日秀尼[にっしゅうに]が瑞龍寺を　　　　　京都につくる。 昭和36年瑞龍寺は滋賀県近江八幡市に移る。

昭和36年に瑞龍寺が山頂に移築されたことを機に、昭和37年11月23日に八幡山ロープウェイは営業開始します。

1593年、淀殿が秀頼を産む。秀吉は秀次に関白職を譲ったことを悔やむようになります。 1595年、秀吉は秀次に反逆の疑いをかけ、官位を剥奪する。秀次は高野山・青厳寺へ追放され、7月切腹の命を下され、柳の間で自害した。

豊臣秀次の墓は、和歌山県高野町の光臺院にある。多分胴塚があると思います。首実験のため京都に首は石櫃にいれ運ばれています。
