ONJUKU monument — Attraction in Onjuku

It’s a nice beach and the camel and Onjuku sign are good for photos. I was suprised that parking was 1,000yen at surrounding car parks. A nice lady was charging 500yen nearby with a comfortable amount of space to park. Despite paying for parking there wasn’t any/many public toilets or showers. Other areas around the Boso peninsula are free and have these facilities.

I think the area should charge less for short term visitors who just want to enjoy a walk on the beach...

Plage très sympas, on peut s'essayer au surf pour pas trop cher. Par contre très peu d'anglais parlé, mais avec un peu de bonne volonté on peut se comprendre. Par contre attention tout est écrit en Kanji ! Donc compliqué pour commander à manger. Neamoins les gens, comme d'habitude au Japon, sont très serviables pour peu que on leurs montre du respect et que l'on essaye de parler japonais (très basique). Bref a essayer si vous venez au Japon et que vous souhaitez une journée plage. A 90min environ en train de la gare de Tokyo. Accessible via JRpass.
