Great resort with a variety of trails. If you're interested in more of the forest trail experiences like I was you'll be a bit disappointed as they only have one good trail for going through some trees. Though if you pay an extra 800yen you get a lift ticket for norikura AND cortina. And cortina had some great forest trails. Both resorts are easy to transit between as long as your prepared to ride the lift up on one resort and ski down towards the other. There is a walking trail but it's a nice 15-20 min walk through the snow. The kids area was great for my 4 year old. A pretty slope with sleds and tubes they have there to use for free. And they have a little area for building snowmen or MegaZords in my son's case. Definitely was happy with that kids area. There is a cafe on the mountain, a small walk up from the kids area, but they do only take yen and not card so just keep that in mind. All in all very happy with the trip. And recommend pairing this with staying at the Hakuba Alps onsen hotel as they give you a locker upon checkin. You walk out the back door and your at the first ski lift. And the onsen there is a perfect pairing for a rough day of...
Read moreThis is the Hakuba Norikura Onsen Snow Resort. Visited at the beginning of Feb 2024 for skiing. Unfortunately, there is no fresh powder snow as it hasn't snowed in the last several days, and the most of the slopes are icy and so hard, however the slopes are well groomed and great condition for skiing and or training. Also it will also be fun to go to beyond of the lift No.11.
There are several car parking lots. They are on the other side of the road, but it seems that some cars are parked diagonally on the side of the road. There are no attendants. The way to the ticket office is uphill and quite a walk, so be careful if you are with children. There are no restrooms in the car park. Use the restrooms in the hotel.
The ticket office is in front of the hotel. A deposit is not required and the ticket is a common ticket for Hakuba Cortina and...
Read moreA laidback resort with a Japanese feel. Not as crowded as other ski resorts in Hakuba and the snow was better, too. My highlight was that even the green beginner run has mini tree runs. Also the lifts are super easy to get on and off. Perfect for people wanting to learn snowboarding or skiing! People even brought their dogs and skied with them. Lots of parking available. Only downside is the lack of restaurants (only one) and no resting / chill out places. Recommend and...
