This is one of my favorite chocolate makers in Hokkaido, so I was excited to see this place on my visit to Sapporo. I arrived on a Monday to discover it was indeed an attraction as there were many foreign tourists walking around the grounds outside. The paid self guided tour was not exciting as it showcased a few relics through a modern made museum to look old. The actual view of the factory floor took just took a few minutes. Just do a hit and run of this place as I didn't have much time. Nice place to pay a visit. Pretty interesting garden and building. Didn't take the tour. Had a soft serve in the cafe and bought a cake from the souvenir shop. Just an advice, you can get "most" of the same stuff minus tax from the airport if you're an overseas visitor. Don't need to carry it all over the place. The only disadvantage is that you can't check them in when you get them at duty free. But you'll likely hand carry...
