The tracks start out looking exciting and easy with a large pathway, that is until you reach the 6th station, when the inclination gets higher and higher and the pathway starts to get very narrow. By the 7th station it is extremely precarious and rocky and a narrowing pathway it becomes very challenging to climb. Not recommended for beginners but more for moderate to experienced hikers or mountain climbers.
We are scouts family who does lots of bush hikes around Sydney. We went with our agile teenager kids and it came with warning signs that it was rocky and narrow pathways that one slip means falling into the magnificent rocky ravine below. Not for the faint hearted but the view is stunning from the top.
Having stated all the above we noticed the local nihon-go with their primary aged kids, older hikers and a parent with a baby carrier hiking up with their families with ease, like mountain goats, I am amazed by their agility and finesse!!
