I always wanted to see a real samurai armor, and often got disappointed in most museums and castles that shows only reproductions, but this is the place to go!

There are a lot of armor and weapons from famous clans and commanders not only from the Sekigahara battle, but also from other periods. Many have weapon damage marks, some still have blood stains on it. By the entrance there is a set of armors from the Ishida (石田) clan, along with an original flag from the Sekigahara battle.

The guide (and owner), who is descended from a samurai lineage, was very nice. He knows a lot of histories about the battles, clans, customs, you name it!

At the end, you can get a souvenir. The best one is a charm (お守り, omamori) made from six original coins from the Edo period (六文銭, rokumonsen), resembling the crest of the Sanada clan. It is said that after you die, you have to pay this six Mon to cross the Sanzu river (like the Styx). Hope I don’t need to use it...

We visited the armor museum and were absolutely thrilled! The owner welcomed us with a smile and kindly guided us throughout the entire visit. He speaks perfect English, which made communication very easy. It was clear he’s a true expert who has dedicated his whole life to this field – his passion and knowledge are truly inspiring.

The armor pieces are beautifully restored, with every detail carefully preserved and displayed with great respect for history. We felt very welcome and left deeply impressed. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, craftsmanship, or those who simply appreciate a personal and heartfelt experience. A...

Really lovely museum just around the corner of the Sekgihara Memorial Museum. This one contains a large private collection of armors from the Sengoku period. The owner spoke at length to us about each piece which was really informative. You can really tell he’s very passionate about each piece and spent a lot of time researching all of them.

If you’re in the area, I’d recommend a quick stop over before heading back! There’s also a very cute pet...

I absolutely loved this museum. The owner is very knowledgeable and has worked very hard to establish his collection of yoroi (armor). Got to try on real yoroi but unfortunately it was too small for me (samurai back then in average were much smaller). Instead the owner let me wear his own customized yoroi. I highly recommend this museum if you want to see real yoroi ranging for 300 to 600 years old.

Very nice museum with real authentic armor, you can see they were used in battle as they have damage from weapons and even blood stains on some of the clothing. The owner is very kind and has a lot of knowledge, he's also a very good English speaker! I definitely recommend visiting if you come to Sekigahara, it's a must-see.
