Ekimae Jido Park — Attraction in Shibukawa

This park has a mix of structures, good for different ages. There is a baby climber, and a bigger one with a neat castle-like layout. Besides the swings, there is a zip line which is longer than most. The main slide from the top of the climber is also a fun one with a good height. There are washrooms in the park, an old steam train that visitors can enter and a basketball net. The grass is mostly dead, but kids are still able to run around here and play tag or hide and go seek. There is also a fence so children shouldn't be running out...

・一見普通の公園ですがSL(D51)が展示されてます。このSLは、昭和18(1943)年に造られた日立製の蒸気機関車で、戦時中も活躍したそうです。そして、昭和46(1971)年に廃車になるまでの28年間で205万キロメートルを走行しました。これは地球約50周にあたる距離です。激動の時代の経済を支え、地球50周を走り抜いた車両だと思うととても感慨深いです。

・また、SLの運転席に入ることが出来ます。なかなか、運転席に入ることが出来るのは珍しいと思います。

渋川駅近くの広めの公園。大きなコンビネーション遊具が１つと、小さいコンビネーション遊具が１つ、蒸気機関車の展示などがあります。 駐車場は、公園の脇に2カ所あります。どちらも10台ほどを無料で停められます。ただ、人気の公園なので、休日にもなるとお昼前には満車になります。 展示されている蒸気機関車には乗ることができ、運転席の操縦パーツなどに触ることができます。運転席まわりのパーツが細かく、それぞれが少し動くので、子どもは夢中...
