This is a compact onsen and 岩ç€æµŽ, 2-in-1, and yet it wouldn't fall short of your expectations on either. The environment is serene, clean, quiet and not overcrowded, even on Sunday. The result is a relaxing, comforting and amazing experience. (Updated on 15/11/2019) Came here again in 2019 and I was pleasantly reminisced about the setting. Basically there were 3 rooms of ganbanyoku (岩ç€æµŽ), Viz 矜衣ã®é, 倩平ã®é and é£å€©ã®é. 矜衣 was made of pink lava rocks, which was my favourite as it helped me sweat profusely. é£å€© was similar to a sauna room and there was a huge stack of charcoal for heating up the room. 倩平 was relatively banal in that it consisted only of flat polished marble rock beds but over time you could feel its power in sweating you up. The restaurant outside the bath operates till 9:30pm. I have no chance to try the food as I reached there around 8:30pm and after spent an hour in the bath the restaurant was already closed. Nevertheless, the experience was enjoyable. It took me around 15min driving from the hotel near Shimizu Station. Parking is free after validation by...

My girlfriend got kicked out (rather aggressively by a staff lady) of the locker room while she was changing, because she has tattoos.
It is our fault that we didn't check the tattoo policy prior, but they didn't even want to refund her ticket and she paid 950Â¥ for basically nothing. Not a nice way to treat foreign visitors who try to show interest and respect to the local culture.
And then, the machine to pay the parking (which was 800Â¥ for less than an hour) took my 1000Â¥ bill so we paid 1800Â¥ in total.
Even though the bath on the men side was nice, on a Saturday afternoon it was extremely busy.
I definitely don't...
