いちどでいいから講演を聞いてみたいと思っていた日本文学者のドナルド・キーン氏が亡くなって２年。

そのキーン氏のノートや愛用品が集められた展示会があるというので、雨の中を運転して草加へ。

草加市文化会館内の茶室の一角に、ノートや愛用のペン、詠んだ俳句などが慎ましく並べられているだけだったど、キーン氏に少し触れられた気がして幸せな気分。

知らなかったけど、キーン氏は奥の細道を英訳して世界に紹介した縁もあって、元草加宿である草加市とも交流があったのだとか。

この茶室の名前もキーン氏が付けたのだとか。

ほう。

で、ついでと言ってはなんなのですが、ちゃんとお茶をいただいて帰りました。
