Very good beach. A real paradise. Clear water, white sand. No jelly fish net, but the beach is shallow and in clear water there was no jelly fish visible.
Too far away to get there by foot. You need a bicycle to get there. There are a lot of bicycle rentals on the island. Each rental shop sends a bus to ship terminal. The buses will pick you up from the ship terminal to the bicycle shop and will bring you back to the terminal at the end of the day. No need to make any reservations. There a plenty of bicycles to rent for adults and for kids.
Just next to the Kondoi beach there is a city bus stop BUT if you plan to use it to return back from the beach to ship terminal, reserve a bus in advance. If you don't call the bus, it will never come to the beach to pick you up. There is a telephone number on the bus stop pole.
Beach does not have any shops. Just a toilet, bath room and tables for picnic. Occasionally there is a small bus shop where a guy sells you some...
Read moreCrystal clear but shallow beach. Knee-high level and tranquil water. Peace of mind to bring kids there to spend 1 - 2 hours.
Snorkelling is not possible as shallow water easily becomes turbid. You can hardly swim too. A lot of sea cucumbers but hardly find a fish in the sea. Disappointed as it is far from the poster illustrated.
Lots of cats sun bathe around the beach in the evening.
Helmet crabs “migration” or even “avalanche” can be seen around the bushes in the evening. People who have trypophobia be aware.
Washrooms and fresh water rinse are free of charge.
Drone is prohibited on the beach.
15 mins ride by minibus or 30 mins ride by bicycle from pier. There are 2 types of minibus schedules: regular and by reservation (see the time slots in photo). Taxi can be reserved in advanced by phone.
Staff at the help desk at pier can only...
Read moreBeautiful beach with clear and clean bright blue waters. Lots of little fish swimming around but also hundreds of sea cucumbers on the sea floor so be careful where you’re stepping! Very family friendly as the water is quite shallow and safe for quite a distance from shore. Lots of lazy stray but tame cats hanging out in the shaded seating area enjoying head scratches and not bothering when being photographed. The shower area was quite scruffy and tired looking compared to some of the other beaches on nearby Ishigaki and there wasn’t much in the way of a changing area so it’s a bit awkward to get changed back into regular clothes after a swim. Definitely a nice swimming spot if you visit the...
