Kurozuka Tumulus Museum — Attraction in Tenri

There is a fairly impressive recreation of the excavated kofun burial chamber and many of the mirrors found inside are displayed upstairs. There are explanations in several languages, including English. A pleasant, clean little museum for the nearby kofun....

Great small museum. Excellent context for history of the nearby tomb, which could easily be missed/ overlooked otherwise.

2017.08.13. (日) 15:45 初来訪 (奈良斑鳩人) 黒塚古墳を探査する前に 展示館で多少の 知識を得た方が 利口と思い 先に訪れる事に

館の１階は 黒塚古墳から出土した埋葬品や 副葬品 メインの竪穴式石室(長さ8.3m) を 原寸大で再現したモノが 吹き抜けの2階から 見られると言う趣向を凝らしたモノが有り トテモ分かりやすく 素晴らしい出来栄えに 驚き感心しました

また コノ館が造られたキッカケとなった 1998年に発見された 日本で最多出土した 三角縁神獣鏡や U字形鉄製品 鉄製の刀剣類 等のレプリカが 数多く展示されていました
