一龍院（cafe TERA’S） — Attraction in Tokyo

I recently visited Ichiryuin Temple, and it was an experience worth sharing. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff that made me feel right at home. Their kindness and genuine interest in their customers set the tone for an unforgettable visit. It was very kind of them to help me and work with me in English, since I have poor Japanese skills. Picking out a stamp is made easier by using a great picture book they have and they will also customize your stamp any way you'd like- even down to the colors or wording.

The atmosphere of the place is simply wonderful. It’s cozy, vibrant, and filled with creative energy. You can sense the passion and dedication that goes into their artwork.

One of the standout features of their one-of-a-kind stamps. Each stamp is a piece of art in itself, meticulously crafted with an eye for detail and uniqueness. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking for a special gift, these stamps are a perfect choice.

I highly recommend this temple to anyone looking for a unique artistic experience and has my favorite stamps so far!! I can't wait to come back soon.

I visited Ichiryuin for the first time today on October 23rd 2022. You enter the building on the right side which essentially a cafe with an integrated shrine inside. From there, you order something to eat or drink. If it is your first time, the staff will explain to you in Japanese how you can go about ordering a customised goshuin. Please note that a Goshuin book is required for ordering the customized goshuin. Goshuin books are available inside starting at 2000yen. The staff is extremely open to your requests and will always ask the artists if your request is possible. It is art, so sometimes the artist will take small artistic liberties, but for the most part they follow your request well and make an amazing goshuin.

I purchased a new goshuin note here specifically for these pieces of art. I requested 2 seperate pieces as can be seen in the photos. I also requested a goshuin of 一龍院 that was not from the samples.

Amazing place, I think this might be the best combination of cafe and temple! It’s totally worth to visit and spend whole morning Chanting sutras is at 12. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every customer felt welcome. The coffee was exceptional, with a rich and smooth flavor.
