Small park below Kasayatohashi, Sakahama area, Inagi-shi. Waterwheel and a small pond surrounded by lush green trees and bamboos. Play area for kids. Around end-June, people and kids visit Hotaru No Sato Kasayato (ホタルの里、かさやと to view fireflies...

6月上旬の休日に子連れで行きました。稲城中央公園からほど近く、駐車場もあり、自然を楽しむ散歩、という感じで夕方に訪れました。 親水公園から入り、そのまま小川を遡る形で小一時間、散策を楽しみました。 途中、ザリガニ釣りをしている人もちらほら。ところどころ住宅街から降りてくる階段もあって、出入りもしやすくなっています。 夕食後、暗くなって再度訪れると、かなりの賑わいで、駐車場はほぼ満車。なんとか停められました。 というのも、この時期はホタルが見えるのです。数多く、いっぱいにというわけには行きませんが、チラホラとホタルが光ってふわふわ飛ぶ、というのが見られます。 暗い中、そこそこの人出でした。 家からほど近いところで、これほどホタルが見られるとは思わず、嬉しいひとときでした！

多摩丘陵の起伏ある地形うち「伏」つまり谷地にある公園。多摩ニュータウン開発前の一昔前の雰囲気が残る一帯。その分というか、街の中心部から距離も遠くアップダウンもあってアクセスは悪い。秋冬は若葉台公園に比べるとジメッとした雰囲気が漂う。カンカン照りの夏の日だと少々涼しいかもしれないが。 一昔前の自然豊かな景観を生かした積もりの公園だと思うが、真上をコンクリートの塊たる上谷戸大橋が通り、それの存在感が、脇役を超えて主役の感がある。 むしろ、その橋脚の人工美と自然のコントラストを楽しむ公園だと思う。 桜が数本植わっているが、日が遮られがちな地形が幸いして鮮やかに色が生える。ソメイヨシノより数日見ごろが早い。
