Katakura Joseki Park — Attraction in Tokyo

It is a beautiful park with ponds. Few ponds are habitats for frogs. In the spring season you can see a lot of frog eggs and tadpoles. I've also seen a snake here, apparently it's not poisonous. The park has a working water wheel. If you climb a few stairs, there is a Shrine/Jinja at the top of the hill. There are many Sakura trees and during cherry blossom it is magical. Free park; neatly maintained but sometimes steep paths. Interesting sculptures. Well maintained wooden walkways over iris pond. Interesting overshot waterwheel, but not milling anything. 扇谷上杉家の家臣長井氏によって築城された城で、豊臣秀吉の小田原征伐で北条氏が滅んだ事で、片倉城も廃城になりました！そんな歴史ロマン溢れる片倉城に本日は、散策にやって来ました！片倉駅から徒歩で１０分位で目的地の片倉城跡公園に着きました！公園内には、片栗や菖蒲、桜等、四季折々の花々を楽しめる草花が植えられている憩いの公園です！ 入園すると、紅葉が見事で、木々の葉が黄色や赤色に染まっています！う〜ん？ 何故か？分かりませんが、彫刻像が至る所に置かれていて不思議な空間を醸し出していますね（笑）先に進むと、菖蒲田があり、小さな小川のせせらぎと水車の水を汲み上げる音が、心を和ませてくれます！そして、奥に進むに連れて傾斜のキツイ山道になり、息が弾み、バテバテです（笑）やっと山道を登りきり、見えて来たのが二の丸広場で、広場には、芝生が敷き詰められていて、解放感を感じる広場になっています！ちょっとしたハイキング気分で、お弁当とシートがあれば、二の丸広場で楽しめそうですね！二の丸広場には、桜の木も多く春になれば風流を感じる花見等も良いですね！二の丸広場で休憩してから、今度は、山道を下り住吉神社でお参りをしてから、急な山道を降りていきます！足元がフラフラになりながら、スタート地点に帰還出来ました！ここの公園で分かった事は、公園内には、山道も多いのでスニーカー、トレッキングシューズで来られた方が安全で安心出来ると言う事！是非皆さんも片倉城跡公園に来られる際には、足元のチェックをシッカリとして来て下さいね！東京湧水５７選の片倉城跡公園は、城としての役目を終えて、今では、地域住民の憩いの公園として新たな役目を担っていました！四季折々に姿を変える公園！来年の春が本当に待ち遠しく、楽しみな公園ですね！疲れましたが、気分転換も出来て最高のリフレッシュでした！ それでは、皆様方良き週...
