Lets start with the good:
Big bathing section Big parking lot directly below the facility Its modern and pretty. Relatively fairly priced (850 yen entrance + 650 yen stone villa relaxation area + 300 yen towel rent) The stone villa relaxation area is incredibly comfortable and has thousands of magazines, manga, lots of couches and chairs and even bunks to lay down in and take a nap.
Negative: staff speaks absolutely zero english whilst the first machine to get your main ticket has an english option, the 2nd machine to get your Ticket for the towels etc doesn't there's no working wifi, which in 2023 is an absolute joke. This is the only Onsen I've been to in all of Japan that doesn't have a working wifi. Well they do, you can access their local network to use their library but there's no internet access through it. The place is very busy, which - is fine - but the amount of people staring at me as I'm soaking in the water because I'm a foreigner is just rude. Especially lots of elderly people. I am quiet, have no tattoos, follow all etiquette so there is absolutely zero other reason for them to stare other than because I'm a foreigner. Never had this issue this prevalent in any other Onsen either.
Overall, this would be a GREAT place considering its atmosphere and the bathes but there's a few issues that honestly, kind of a deal breaker for me. I won't return,...
Read moreThe only thing super about this onsen is the noise. Not only are a large majority of the customers groups of college students and children, but both the indoor and outdoor onsen are built like echo chambers. And to amplify even more noise, they decided to add a huge waterfall that sounds like a freight train in the middle of the onsen, so if people do talk they have to yell over the waterfall making everything too loud. Really counter intuitive with the whole "relaxing" part of an onsen. However, some pros include the selection of onsen baths to relax in. The onsen area is nice looking too, with a starry night looking onsen in the middle, and the food is cheap I guess. Some cons include no wifi and no English on the machines (except the entrance machine to lure you in). Normally no english is not a problem, you can just explain to staff in basic Japanese and they can do their best to help, but here, the machines are far away from the staff area and the machines use a lot of Kanji so half the time its guesswork. Genuinely even if this place said "no foreigners allowed," I would still not recommend it to Japanese people. There are plenty of onsens nearby, try one of those...
Read moreWent multiple times over the course if a month. Its a super smooth ride. On the key of your shoes locker is a badge that you use for entry and all payments of additional services inside, from a scrubdown to milk or something from the restaurant inside... which also offers great food. Kids are free until they are in school (6 years before march) They have shuttle buses to 4 different train stations that go every hour for free. Inside bath selection is also sufficient with 6 different put door baths and 6 indoor. Additional there are 3 cold baths for the 2 saunas of which one is a chilling 8c...
