I hope this place will have English support in the labels and explanatory notes of the artwork, although I must say that the curators do their best to arrange and display items and artefacts in thematic order that could be understood (somehow) by foreign visitors. But if the foreign visitors want to understand better the local history of the city and the neighboring areas, the staff should level-up their work.

西武池袋線清瀬駅北口からけやき通りを直進し案内のある路地を少し入った場所にある徒歩にして１５分程度の場所にある昭和６０年に開館された都内でも数少ない市立博物館である。規模は広くはないものの常設展示室は２室有り、常設展示室１は清瀬市の明治～平成の民具を中心とした資料の展示を同２は地質時代～江戸期の資料を展示している。その他映像展示室や伝承スタジオ、ギャラリーや喫茶室がある。２階にあるギャラリーでは様々な企画展示が行われており、令和元年５月２５日現在ではギャラリー展示で清瀬市と縁のある色鉛筆画家林亮太氏の作品展「仄な燦 遷う節(ほのかなきらめきうつろうおりふし)」が６月２日迄開かれている。
