We took a bus going directly to the station which is placed nearby. The stairs down to the pathway was very close to the station and there were no signs guiding us to the park on the roads (as far as we could see). We found our way there via google maps. We visited the park on a sunny winters day and it was calming and beautiful.

Along the walk there were information sites and toiletries which were modern. The tombs sounded super interesting, we later realised they were peepholes into the ground were you saw-stones. Not particularly fun for us but we enjoyed the site. For us it was simply a calming getaway not far away from the inner city.

The train ride home wasn’t as direct as our way here. To Shibuya we had to change trains, it’s not that bothering really but wasn’t as nice as the direct bus we took on...

In the heart of the largest urban agglomeration on the planet lies an oasis of calm and beauty. Stretching 1.2 kilometres this 15 metre deep ravine is a true hidden gem. From the bustling streets, teeming with traffic, you descend to a cobbled path that meanders along a cool stream past majestic trees and groves of giant bamboo. Interestingly enough, there are few foreign tourists yet information panels in English help guide you through the main points of interest. Make sure to walk through the Japanese garden. Although I’ve only visited in summer, the ravine is known for the incredible colours of it’s fall foliage. To do it justice you should plan on a bare minimum of one hour although one could easily spend a half-day enjoying this...

Located about 20 - 30 minutes by train from Shibuya Station, Todoroki Valley (or Ravine) is one of the green oasis to escape the bustling city life. Popular especially during the summer and the autumn, first for cooler temperature and later for the autumn colour leaves, the ravine path (concrete walk path) stretches for about 1 km.

At the end of the valley you can find a beautiful Japanese Garden, free entrance.

There are some popular spots along the route, such as a restaurant, shrines, a small waterfall...
