We went a few weeks ago, and it was great! When I say great, I mean challenging and fun😅 I’m in good shape, and went with my husband and 4 kids (4-12yrs), and it wasn’t easy, but that’s the way I like it! My 4 year old and 6 year old climbed up the steepest hills on all fours (so I wished I’d had them wear tougher clothing.) Definitely wear grippy shoes and don’t go right after a rain; we gave it a couple days to dry out and it was good, but still slick and slippery in some places. Be prepared to carry the young ones down some long steep hills as well, and take water and some snacks, even in February 😉

Great hiking spot about 20 minutes from Torii Station. Several trails offering different levels of difficulty. You can even mix and match while you're out on the trails and take different paths in order to increase the difficulty if you want to get more out of it. As you can see there are great views from the top!

Great hike but there is no designated start location. The parking lot is right outside of the location so don't follow maps exactly or else it will have you driving around the hike. The hike itself is challenging at some spots and if it recently rained make sure to wear hiking boots.

This is nice little quint park sitting at the base of Ishikawa-dake. Multiple hiking trails start at this location. Don't forget to stop by the park office. They want all hikers to provide them with complete information in the case of an emergency while you are hiking so they know where to find you. (don't forget to tell them you are done too!!) not much here, but peaceful place...
