I stopped at Cape Soya Drift Ice Museum when I visited Cape Soya. My driver took me here after our brief and I mean brief stay at Cape Soya due to gale winds. I was not entirely certain of what this museum was about since it was all in Japanese. There is a freezer that displays real drift ice. Like real ice taken from the ocean and displayed to view!!! Read more宗谷岬にある最北端のB級スポット。 柏屋という土産物屋の奥に入口から入っていくと冷凍室があり、そこが流氷館なのです。 たぶん、元々は冷凍倉庫だったのを、なにかの理由で使わなくなり転用したのだと推測します。 昭和ライクな看板に導かれて館内に入ると、そこはマイナス15℃ぐらいに保たれて、本物の流氷が展示されています。 流氷の上にはアザラシやキタキツネの剥製が置かれ、キタキツネは家族の設定なのか、なぜかぬいぐるみの子ぎつねが配置。なぜか鹿の剥製もあるカオスな空間。 壁には流氷の押し寄せる宗谷岬のタペストリー、たぶんその年の流氷の様子を示した地図とB級スポット感がプンプン。 ちなみにですが、待合室のようなスペースには珍妙な剥製が展示されていて笑えます。 このようなテイスト...
