Awesome spot to spend a whole day with kids and family. Opens at 9:30 am and closes at 4:30 pm but the parking closes at 5:00. Ample parking space @ 600 yen for one time but need to pay while entering . One parking is close to the zoo main entrance and other little far away but they have shuttle bus run in every 10 minutes intervals. As the zoo section is located on the top of the hill bus ride is better idea. Zoo entrance fee is 500yen/adult and 200 yen/child the age of 4 and above. On Saturdays entrance fee free for less than Jr High students. This zoo has the biggest elephant in japan also with ivory. And the first Okapi ( cross breed of giraffe and zebra ) was brought in this zoo in whole Japan. Kangaroo and koala zone is in separate area. Many grey kangaroo on one place. Fortunately we could see kangaroo fight.
The best attraction for kids is the playing park with long and stiff slide. It's better is to take Flexible Flyer snow seat sled , as it was a burning feeling while riding on the slide with kids. Many animals preserved. There are good toilet facility. Other additional facilities for having lunch with hot water provision , most of the water taps has hand...
Read moreI commend this Zoo and its Zookeepers because even though there are not much people who always comes here, and its not as popular as Zooraisia, the animals here are very healthy and looks very well taken care of. 👍👍👍 Me and my kids have been to alot of Zoos but here in Kanazawa Zoo we noticed that the animals lives comfortably in their enclosures. some animals are alone but they don't seem lonely at all, it just means that their zookeepers does their job well in taking care of them. 👍👍
i hope everyone comes and visit the healthy animals here in Kanazawa Zoo! 🫶🫶👋👋

Read moreNot a great zoo to take little kids. Parking is terrible--one of the two parking lots is so far away from the entrance that you take a shuttle bus to get there. It's quite a bit of walking from one enclosure to the next; there are not many animals for such a large amount of space. (I'm not saying you should cram animals in tightly. But there was a whole lot of nothing to look at as you walked from one pen to the next.) No good food/snack options. All in all I wouldn't go back. I'm surprised it got such...
