Super crowded but Definitely worth a visit.

Yoshinoyama's cherry blossoms typically start opening in late March or early April and reach full bloom around early to mid April. Because of the range of elevation, the blooming season is staggered by a couple of days between the Shimo (lower), Naka (middle) and Kami (upper) Senbon areas as the blossom front gradually moves up the mountain. The trees in the Oku Senbon area open considerably later.

Shuttle buses operate between Yoshino Station and the Naka Senbon area near Chikurin-in Temple from late March to late April (March 24 to April 23, 2023; 450 yen one way, 2 buses/hour). From the Naka Senbon area near Chikurin-in Temple, mini buses operate further to the Oku Senbon area of Yoshinoyama until early May (March 25 to May 7, 2023; 15 minutes, 400 yen one way, 1-2 buses/hour). There are 3 small parking lots near Hanayagura viewpoint. Pics took from...

I am a solo English speaking traveller.

After a long hike up, you are greeted with incredible views, beer and some traditional Japanese food. There is a small place where you can loose your shoes and take in the view, as well as a table to have a well earned smoke.

So glad I persevered and made it this far up. Along the way some of the most incredible scenery I have have seen.

There are also toilets and a few vending machines to cure the immediate thirst.

You won’t be...

The photos that came up when you search Yoshino are taken here. Definitely the best view spot in Yoshino. If you want to come read some warning.

WARNING 1 ropeway and bus will be very crowded during sakura season so be prepared to walk up the mountain. It's not too difficult as there are paved roads

WARNING 2 even if you are fit and walk constantly without resting it will take like 90 mins from Yoshino station.

WARNING 3 book a limited express train for...

A medium difficulty hike to this observation deck for a wonderful view of the cherry blossom. Along the way, there are tons of shops, shrines, food and interesting local stuff to look at. I ended up spending almost 7 hours the entire hike, and was interesting to see the cherry blossoms at different stage from the lower, middle and upper areas. At night, the cherry blossoms also has some illumination (but not much).
