Another attraction to be seen in this wonder place called Almaty is the Baiken Mosque. The Mosque which was opened on 5th December 2014 on the pursuit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is in honour of the prominent statemen, President of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Kazakh SSR Baiken Ashimov. It is located on the crossing of the streets Rozybakiev and Zhandosov and is the biggest mosque in the Bostandyk area of Almaty. The Baiken Mosque is built on area of 6000 sq. meters and can accommodate 3000 persons and consists of 6 floors. This mosque has different sections for male and female praying halls and is one of the most modern day architecture piece in Almaty.
