Choma Bite is conveniently located in Nakuru, right along Section 58 road, next to Menengai High School. One of the advantages of this location is the absence of traffic congestion, making it easy and hassle-free to reach the restaurant. Inside, the restaurant is straightforward and unpretentious, with no extravagant or elaborate décor.
The dining experience, in terms of service, was rather average. Despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't crowded, the waitress appeared quite confused, which had an impact on the overall service quality. The handling of meat at the counter was particularly concerning, as it was handled with bare hands. Considering the sensitivity of food hygiene, especially with meat, the absence of gloves or proper sanitary measures was unsettling. It's straightforward consideration that such practices should be standardized, especially in front of customers, to maintain health standards and avoid contamination - you wouldn't want to see the same hands that were used for handling personal items or scratching being used for food preparation.
On the brighter side, the speed of service was commendable; the food arrived quickly, eliminating any prolonged waiting times. Moreover, the dish itself was enjoyable, with the meat being tender and the ugali particularly delicious.
There is ample parking space available outside the restaurant, along with security, which adds a layer of convenience and safety. Families might consider dining here, although it's advisable to be aware of the hygiene practices if you're especially meticulous about cleanliness standards. Choma Bite offers affordability, making it a viable option if you're on the lookout for a reasonably priced...
Read moreRANDOM EVENING: So looks like when i ordered "choma" i should have said "nyama" cause i got more of "mafuta and bones" instead of meat 🥩 Tried to request for other meaty options of the same but i was told "hakuna ingine" smh🤦♀️🤷♀️ I was very exhausted, hungry and pictured the traffic i would encounter being that it was evening and trying to drive back to town to go to another restaurant, so i chose peace and decided to separate the mafutas out and eat what was left.
RANDOM HOLIDAY: Most of their staff are very friendly. If you're ordering take-away its pretty hectic, you have to "follow" your order, like literally select yourself, order, hang around as it gets ready like a lost soul, then get someone to follow it up and package it for you, go pay... And I've really simplified the process, its very hectic especially if its on a busy day and you are all trying to order and find someone to follow up on your behalf. Its not a smooth process for take away.
Random day X: Meat and "mara" portion sizes have also drastically reduced since the recent renovation. Its even worse when you order more. The higher the quantity you'll request, the smaller the portion sizes. But then again, we could blame it on the "economy." I rate higher cause the meat is well done and they do try to maintain cleanliness and they have very...
