The Malindi Pier is okay. The positives are it's a beautiful site walking on the pier till the end and you have a beautiful view of the ocean and the fishermen fishing. You can also take amazing photos on the pier. The negatives are there are no safety rails on the sides and at the end so if you're not careful you could fall off and probably get seriously injured. I'm not sure if this is a positive or negative but people will approach you once they realize you're a tourist and want to give you tours to different places and some will ask for financial help. Use your wisdom to engage these people but my recommendation is don't make any bookings with them but consult with the place your staying but be polite to those people and engage them in conversation. No payment accessing the pier is necessary just walk around...
