Lost Beach Club — Restaurant in Shella ward

A beautiful place. Both the setting and the design gives the place a great atmosphere. In addition did we experience a service level high above what we are used to in Malindi. The waiter was very attentive and efficient. We had some minor issues with the food, that unfortunately looked a lot better than it tasted. Upon making the waiter aware of this, the manager arrived in seconds, and did a great job attempting to solve the problem. After more than 40 years in the business, I am aware that there's a "new generation" of chefs, that have learned more from YouTube and plating techniques, than the basic culinary skills. And at my age and facination for the solid, classic and well established cuisines, I do have problems to like presentation above flavours and good cooking skills. When that is said, that might of course not apply to all. Even famous hotels as Kempinsky have chosen that approach, so it might be me being to old fashioned. Anyway; this was my only (and minor) disappointment. All in all I consider Lost a very positive experience. Absolutely one of the better in Malindi. And with the will I saw, to strive to be better, I belive this might be just "adolescent problems". The place is still fresh, and have already established themselves among the best in town.
