This has been one of my worst ever experiences - my precious cats had their Titer test (for Rabies) last April at RAH - KD150 - so that they'd be ready to travel to U.K. this year. Results came back that they'd passed... Great!!! Now I am ready to leave Kuwait in June and I've been told - and it has been confirmed by authorities at London Heathrow - that my cats have not been properly vaccinated and cannot travel with me!!!! The incomplete vaccination was done at Dahima (next door to RAH, so BEWARE OF THEM TOO!!!!), but the fact remains that RAH did the Rabies test without properly checking my cats' vaccination record. Thank you very much to the Head Nurse, Alison Rigley, at the International Veterinary Hospital for noticing the mistake!!!!. The test has been redone ( I had to PAY RAH AGAIN!!! ) and now my cats will either have to stay for THREE MONTHS in Kuwait, until end of JULY!!!! or travel with me mid-June and I'll have to pay 5 weeks' quarantine!!!! Had Ms Rigley not noticed the mistake they'd have had to stay till September or have 3 months quarantine in UK!!! Another problem is that I have already shipped my belongings to U.K. What is going to happen to my belongings if I don't travel????? Also, my Transfer of Residence application to U.K. government includes my cats, which now cannot travel!!!!! Honestly, this hospital has caused me so much INCONVENIENCE and EXTRA EXPENSE AND WORRY, it's unbelievable!!!! In addition to this mess, the receptionist told me over the phone that I am not the first owner of my female cat and that she's been vaccinated TWICE in HUNGARY!!!!! I told her she was wrong but she INSISTED, and verified my phone number, even telling me the name of the previous 'owner'!!!! Unbelievable!!!! So, not only do they have 'doctors' who don't know how to read a vaccination report, but they have employees who don't know how to record data in the correct patient's file!!!! What a mess!! Another thing, my female cat was Microchipped when she was a few months old - that microchip somehow 'disappeared' . Yes, at one of her visits, the doctor couldn't locate it in her neck, and so decided she needed to have another one done. I don't know how common it is for a microchip to disappear, but it seemed very strange to me!!!! All-in-all,,,,,, it's shocking, frustrating and very disappointing that a veterinary hospital that charges as much as they do, still is not dependable!!! We should be able to trust doctors!!!! Management is apparently 'new', but that's not an excuse!!! Who is going to pay all these extra costs for me?????? It's not MY FAULT!!!!! or my poor...
Read moreI CANNOT THANK RAH ENOUGH! This hospital helped me during Kuwait's first (and hopefully last) COVID-19 TOTAL lockdown. You saved my 9 month old kitten's life and I'll be eternally thankful!
On the 2nd day of of Total Lockdown I noticed a strange discharge from my kitten. I sent a pic to my friend, who told me it was pyometra and my cat would die if not operated on immediately. I had no travel pass and nowhere to take her to for surgery. All the Animal hospitals were closed. I thought I was going to have to watch my sweet kitten die a painful death.
Then I was told RAH was doing online consultations for 8kd (I think?) during the lockdown. I contacted the number, paid the fee, explained my concerns and sent the picture. An RAH staff member called me and agreed it looked like Pyometra and that the kitten needed immediate surgery. They told me that a Nurse and Doctor would go to the hospital and that someone would come pick up my cat that same day. They said this was their first time trying to do anything since the lockdown started and were hoping everything would work out OK with their travel passes.
Within just a few hours a young man in a Toyota Supra came to my house to take the cat and shortly after I received a call saying the surgery had been completed. I felt a wave of relief I have never felt before. The next day, the same young man dropped my cat off and instructed me on her medication dosage, all while talking on the phone and asking what the location was and that he was on his way to pick up somebody else's poor pet.
It's been almost 3 weeks and Thunder is recovering just fine and terrorizing her brothers and sisters again.
A few days later I received word that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 and RAH would no longer be open during lockdown. I hope everyone involved has since recovered.
You guys really made a huge difference for me and I can't say thank you enough! I can't imagine what I would have done if you were not there to help me. I never met anybody or caught anybody's name, but again thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
THANK YOU ROYAL...

I have taken 4 animals to this clinic with Amazing results. I have shown the xrays of work performed by Dr. Gino at Royal Hospital to the military working dog vets on our Army Camp and I was told it was excellent "outstanding" work . he has repaired the same leg of a kitten twice shattered. The kitten is now a cat and is the avian terror of the neighborhood.
For the People complain of price;
Do they know the prices outside Kuwait (Like in US and Europe) are FAR more expensive? Do they understand that a veterinary doctor has virtually the same training required for human medicine with the added complexity of multiple animal physiology which is not always the same, and diseases can present differently in different species?
COST: (JUST GOOGLE: "animal emergency room visit cost") The American Veterinary Medical Association says there is no standard model for the industry, but some emergency vets require payment before treatment. Thirty-four percent of Angie's List poll respondents reported paying between $251 and $500 for an emergency visit. (75 KWD to 150 KWD) If you want a cheap fix, go to your local bakala. When the guy is done selling Marlboros he can look at the animal for 1 KWD...and good luck.
If you want reasonable prices with European doctors and knowledgeable staff; this is a great hospital.
Last but not least, I often find that the rudest people think OTHERS are rude. There is a tendency for people with a irrational sense of privilege to find others rude.
This cost analysis is fact; the observed results of treatment and multiple surgeries is fact, the demeanor of people is my opinion based on...
