I really liked this museum! It displays the different machines used to make, shape and stamp the soaps. I would’ve wished having a tour guide like other groups did; I’m sure it would’ve made the whole experience richer and more interesting. What made the experience better however, was a video documentary about the women of Saïda and how they used to make soap, as well as Mr Mahmoud Sharkass, a soap maker in Tripoli that’s been making soap without using fire, as has his ancestors have been doing for years. The video made the visit worthy. The entrance fee...

If your looking for a heritage visit to place that tells a story then you reached the right place. The Soup Museum in Saïda is not just a museum, it’s a journey through history to one of the iconic places in the city that tells the story of soap making and how it was made and the people behind it. We buy soaps these days off the shelf without knowing what it went through in the old days. It’s a place that you should visit, but their authentic items and watch their video, don’t forget to sip a cup of coffee in their boutique...

Very well thought place where we discovered all about the soap making process and the history of this craft in Lebanon. After learning about the stages of soap making there’s a very nice collection of traditional soaps and tools from several Lebanese villages. I highly recommend the place for it highlights brilliantly the traditional way of making soap and showcases the work of local artisans. The museum’s boutique is also a very nice place to buy unique souvenirs.

Original museum where you can learn a lot about the traditional way of producing local loreal soap. They say that the origin of this Artisan is Nablus in Palestine. For me, nothing equal the famous Aleppo traditional Soap. The prices at the sales boutique are very high. You can still afford one or two soaps as souvenir, but to buy in quantity, you better seek the local market of the nearby old town, where you find many tradditional stuffs very affordables.
