Überbewertet.

Bei der Ankunft an der Heringer Mühle stellten wir überrascht fest, dass der Weg zum Schiessentümpel gesperrt ist. Steht online nirgends. Die Örtlichkeit hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, so manches Hotel und Restaurant ist geschlossen. Baustellen und Bauzäune sind auch reichlich vorhanden. Um nicht nur zu meckern - die Parkplätze sind kostenlos und reichlich vorhanden. Die Beschilderung zur Tourist-Info ist irreführend, aber schließlich fanden wir sie dann doch noch. Die freundliche Dame empfahl uns eine gute Kombination aus dem "roten", dem "blauen", also aus Route 2- und Route 3-Weg, insgesamt 12 Kilometer. Die Fels-Formationen sind wirklich beeindruckend. Aber wie lange kann man sich Felsformationen anschauen, die immer nach dem gleichen Muster aufgebaut sind? Eine, zwei oder drei Stunden? Mir jedenfalls wurde es bald langweilig. Auch der "Wald" seht genauso aus, wie man ihn aus vielen sogenannten Premium-Wanderwegen kennt. Gepflegt und bewirtschaftet, haben - aus meiner Sicht - solche "Wälder" eher Forst-Charakter und mit richtiger Natur wenig bis nichts zu tun. Die von der Tourist-Info hochgelobte Beschilderung der Wanderwege ist in den meisten Teilen wirklich sehr gut, versagt aber an einer entscheidenden Stelle: Kommend von Connsdorf über den Waldweg den Härdbach entlang, was der Empfehlung der Tourist-Info entsprach, gibt es keinen Hinweis, wo man zu den Schluchten abbiegen muss. Wenn man das verpasst, läuft man Richtung Hersberg weiter. Dank der Outdooractive-App fanden wir aber die Abzweigung. Die Schluchten sind wirklich beeindruckend. Das rettet der Wanderung den dritten Stern. Und jetzt kommt der größte Kritikpunkt: Den weiteren Teil der Strecke, also etwa 6 Kilometer von den Schluchten zum Schiessentümpel (der Kombi-Weg aus "rot" und "blau"), führt der Waldweg größtenteils nicht weit von einer Straße entfernt und man hat daher meistens den Lärm des Autoverkehrs in den Ohren. Sehr schade!

Fazit: Insgesamt nichts, was man nicht auch im Saarland oder in Rheinland-Pfalz finden würde. Eine weite Anreise nur für das Müllerthal lohnt sich meines Erachtens...

Great trail. Lots to see. A small waterfall, and really narrow passages through the rocks. Well laid out, very good signposted along the route. Worthwhile!

We took trail 2, which has a lot of interesting sites, mostly between Mullerthal and Consdorf. Wear good hiking shoes. Bring water as well, as there are no places along the route...
