ATV Borneo Adventure Sport — Attraction in Borneo

My recent experience at ATV Borneo Adventure Sports was nothing short of a disaster. I had high hopes for an exciting ATV ride through the beautiful landscapes, but unfortunately, my expectations were shattered. I strongly advise anyone considering this company to think twice before wasting their time and money.

First and foremost, the vehicles provided by ATV Borneo Adventure Sports were in terrible condition. Throughout the entire ride, we encountered frequent breakdowns, with engines dying and tires so bald that getting out of ruts became an arduous task. The lack of maintenance was evident, and it significantly hampered our ability to enjoy the experience. To make matters worse, one of the ATVs started leaking fuel, and another one began smoking.

Moreover, ATV Borneo Adventure Sports exhibited a complete lack of professionalism when it came to managing reservations. Despite calling ahead of time to book 5 single ATVs for 5 riders, we were provided with only 3 ATVs upon arrival. It was clear that they failed to organize ahead of time, forcing my group to double up on two ATVs. This not only compromised our comfort but also undermined our safety (we sat on the metal cargo rack).

Furthermore, the customer service was abysmal. Upon reaching the venue early, we did not receive any briefing or safety equipment until the very last minute when we had to request them. It seemed as though we were forgotten about, as the staff appeared uninterested and unresponsive to our inquiries.

Adding insult to injury, the advertised attractions, such as the visit to the earthquake ruins and the climb up Sosodikon hill, were not included in our ATV ride. We were left disappointed and frustrated after driving for two hours from the city to Kundasang, only to have our expectations shattered due to the constant breakdowns of the vehicles.

The only positive aspect of this experience was the view I had while being stuck on the hill for 20 minutes. However, I must emphasize that ATV Borneo Adventure Sports cannot take credit for this, as it was purely accidental and unrelated to...

ATV Borneo Adventure is your go to for your tour needs. I was impressed by their responsiveness and arrangement of the tour we had to Bongawan River. Travel details were given and the timing and arrangement was on the dot. It was a smooth process and they were on time despite them having to make numerous pickup at different locations. We were also given real time updates when the pickup van reached different pick up locations so we could estimate what time to arrive. The trip itself was worth it as we were driven 1hour away from KK town to the outskirts of Bongawan. There a simple tea was prepared and we boarded the boat to watch the long tailed monkey and proboscis monkey. We were lucky to have spotted the proboscis monkey on our way out. We were then served a lovely local buffet for dinner and then we're given an hour to stroll on the beach which had a sky mirror effect to take photos and watch the sunset. It was a lovely place for sunset watching and great photos. At dusk, we boarded the boat again to he'd into the the river to watch the fireflies. Just a word of advice, slather yourself with loads of mosquito repellant as there are many many mosquitoes and sandflies. Other than that, it is really a trip to remember. Our guide was friendly and helpful and constantly kept in touch with us on what are we doing next. We participated this so called awesome ATV outdoor activity with ATV Borneo Adventure Sport on 26/01/2023. During the adventure time we really enjoy the process until we parked our ATV half way because we chose to hike to Sosodikon Hill by ourselves. After hike an accident happened as my mum suddenly bang a car beside. The instructor just asked me back to the accident area talked to car’s owner by myself without any advise given. So I just face to face with owner see how to solve this issue.

Unfortunately I didn’t make police report on the spot.

I’ve contacted their management to verify is there any Public Liability insurance taken from ATV operator. The answer is NO! As they told me that this is high risk activity so many insurance companies not accept. They have experiences previously even customer get injured and hospitalised also can’t get any insurance claim. Speechless. So I’ve requested them to provide me Body&Paint Workshop’s contact since I’m unfamiliar in Sabah. For beginning they provided me a person in charge to deal with. But almost a week no news no reply! Even I’ve called & texted many times just ignored me.

What a IRRESPONSIBLE company? Really disappointed!!!

I’ve purchase travel insurance which cover Public Liability Insurance. However my mistake not to make police report immediately so can’t do anything.
