(Detailed review below) Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐

An interesting night market to visit with lots of food items on sale! The food items here are all Halal (even the stalls that are selling Chinese food). Keep an eye out for stalls selling local (i.e. specific to Sarawak/Miri) delicacies e.g. kek lapis (layered cake). In a corner, there’s the “smoke house” where you can find multiple stalls selling meat or fish cooked on grills (BBQ style). As a sweet tooth, I made a beeline for the “apam balik” stall and have absolutely no regrets! The market opens from around 5pm to 10pm, if I’m not mistaken.

Tip: Don’t go on an empty stomach, you will easily be tempted by all the lovely food! There’s a stall called Old Man Burger Station selling a Monster Burger (monster in size, that is!). It’s pretty huge and could easily...

An amazing place to visit in the evening for a huge variety of snacks, food, and more. It's a large covered area with many stalls. All the staffs are very friendly and fond of visitors, so we felt really welcome here. A few stalls sell the traditional layer cakes of Sarawak, many myriads are there. Head over to the grill area where so many stalls are selling grilled chiicken wings, meat and more. Lots of traditional kuih and pastry as well. One of the outstanding stalls include the noodles stall which well so many different types of noodles. Food lovers must...

In Semenanjung we don't have such a large covered night market. Was there when it was raining so, I am totally grateful for the covered market. Not all stalls were open, I guess due to the MCOs.

But there were still lots of grilled stuff, satay, chicken wings, fish, lamb etc. Local kueh-mueh, apam balik, nasi ayam, ayam penyet, all types of noodles, mixed rice, nasi lemak etc. You should find something that you'd eat.

There were so many grilled stalls that I am out smoked :)

There were some other non food items for sale but it was a little...

What can I say except this is a very, no, EXTREMELY, dangerous place if you're on a diet! The level of self control you must have to avoid buying one of everything you see and smell ... I just didn't have it in me to say no. Thankfully we went after dinner and it closing time. But we somehow still managed to leave with some apam balik and kuih dam and yours truly, demolished the entire bag back at the hotel. Will I be back? Yes. Will I regret it? Maybe. Will it be worth it again? ABSOLUTELY! Follow my adventures IG @blingless
