Pengerang (Jawi: ڤڠرڠ; Chinese: 边佳兰) is a municipality in Kota Tinggi District, in the Malaysian state of Johor. It was established in 2017. It is home to the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC), a major hub for the oil and gas industry in the state.

Pengerang coastal batteries (a fort), located nearby Tanjung Pengelih, are a heritage trail of World War II. The battery was constructed at the mouth of Sungai Santi, overlooking Straits of Johor and was abandoned after the war. The battery is said to be the biggest defence fort outside the United Kingdom. It sits on a 610 hectares plot of land and once had barracks and a hospital.[10] Pengerang battery is a lost fortress located in Johor. Overlooking Straits of Johor, it is located close to a Malaysian military camp, standing on the top of a little hill covered by jungle.

Pengerang as a place name was first mentioned in Hikayat Abdullah, a 19th-century traditional Malay literature.[2]

Pengerang was initially a cluster of villages on the southeastern coast of Johor.[2] In the 1860s the villages were overseen by a Datuk Penggawa Timur, a government officer appointed by the Johor Sultan to administer the state's eastern territory.[2] In 1957, Pengerang was upgraded to a subdistrict (daerah kecil) under Kota...

Jomis Old Jetty - Adjacent to the Sungai Rengit Firestation/Bomba in Bandar Penawar, Johore Darul Takzim, Malaysia. It's an old jetty/pier belong to JOMIS which's used to be a route to send bauxite to the barge and for fishing vessels along time ago. Nowadays is abondened and not much to see as it really is... It's not easy to access and there's no signage at the entrance. You can reach the place through the unpaved road/red soil road by vehicle or walking a few hundred meters through small path, then climb down to the old jetty/beach side. Not as expected there's a lot of rubbish around the place. Although it isn't suitable to take a dip but still manage to take a photo, stroll around or beach fishing activity. For a beautiful view better come when the tide is half down, it have a different view during the sunrise and sunset (dusk hours). Worth a look... 🌊...

Is just before bomba place, got one junction to turn in (you can see the road is red soil road).

2 ways to go to this secret attraction places:

  1. Park your car roadside without blocking the road, and walk around 10mins to here Or
  2. Drive your car through bumpy and unpaved, muddy road, even worse if after rain.

I choose to walk cause I really sayang my car 😂

Once reached the secret attraction place, you need to slowly walk down to the beach, careful on the stones as some are slippery and not stable.

That time I went is not low tide, because if low tide, you can walk through the pillars and take video/photo. However I still managed to take a...
