This happened on August 1st, 2025, at Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
I live at Bloomsvale Residences, and my wife and I usually do our grocery shopping at MemeZozo, a store inside the gallery. That evening, around 9:40–9:50 PM, we stopped by Mr.DIY (right next to MemeZozo) to grab a few items. Afterward, I started feeling really dizzy, so I told my wife to finish the grocery run while I waited outside Gigi Coffee, which was closing up. They have some seating outside, and from where I was sitting, I had a clear view of MemeZozo’s billing counters.
While sitting there, I noticed a young woman in a black, backless dress queuing up at the far-left billing counter with another girl — maybe her friend or sister, who was dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt.
Here’s where things got disturbing.
I noticed the security guard — a Pakistani man (he was speaking Urdu later with another staff member) — acting suspiciously. He kept pacing and glancing in her direction, watching her way too intently. When the young woman stepped up to the counter to check out, maybe her dress shifted slightly — I couldn’t tell if it was a wardrobe malfunction or just how the dress fit, but part of her side breast was visible.
That’s when the security guard suddenly walked quickly to the front — right opposite her — and started recording her with his phone. He acted like he was just on his phone, but I saw what he was doing.
I put down the shopping bags, one item fell, I picked it up, and then I went straight to him. By the time I got to him, the woman was already gone. I couldn’t find her anywhere.
I confronted the guard: “What the hell are you doing?”
He immediately got defensive and aggressive. I told him to show me his phone gallery. He started shaking. When he opened the gallery, sure enough — there was the video. I pointed and asked, “Are you serious? You wear a security uniform and this is what you do? You’re supposed to stop this kind of behavior, not be the one doing it.”
I asked him to call his supervisor. He was visibly terrified. One of the staff at the billing counter, a Bangladeshi guy I know well, came over and asked what happened. I explained the situation and told him to get a supervisor. But he told me to just let it go.
I wasn’t thinking clearly — I was still dizzy and unwell. I told the guard to delete the video, which he did. I was loud enough that people around started watching, wondering what was going on.
Eventually, I went back to my seat, took my groceries, and my wife returned from shopping. She asked what had happened because she noticed the commotion. I just told her I’d explain upstairs, that I wasn’t feeling good.
Later that night, after medicine and dinner, it really hit me — why did I let him go? That man violated someone’s privacy in the worst way, and I just let him walk off after deleting the video.
I’m also Bangladeshi, and while I don’t care about the nationality of the security guy, the whole thing just left me disgusted and angry. That girl has no idea she was being filmed like that. I don’t know what to do now or who to report this to — it’s been bothering me ever since.
If anyone has advice on how to escalate this or who to report it to in Malaysia — especially at Bloomsvale — I’d really...

Its 320,000 sq ft gross floor area (230,000 sq ft NLA) accommodates a diverse tenant mix, including anchors like MeMi ZoooZooo, Mr DIY, Sport Planet, and Believe Fitness, Mini Tanker alongside popular F&B outlets such as Gigi Coffee, Inside Scoop, and Nam Heong. It also houses family-friendly attractions like Jungle Gym and Molly Fantasy.
Its Food Connect (Muslim-Friendly) and Kong Yam Kong Sek (Non-Halal) food halls are as good as dying. This mall often struggle for consistent footfall, reflecting a wider trend in KL's oversupplied mall landscape. Currently, the mall appears to cater significantly to Kerjaya Group staff due to integrated offices and residents from surrounding condominiums, forming a primary captive audience.
To truly broaden its appeal and attract a wider public beyond these immediate demographics, Bloomsvale should implement a free 3-hour parking promotion. More crucially, the mall needs to consistently host more diverse and engaging family-friendly events beyond its existing play areas. By combining parking incentives with a robust calendar of family-oriented activities, Bloomsvale can significantly boost...
