It's a lovely beach with lots of privacy but sadly it isn't all too long (about 4 M long during high tide) The sand consistency is very good and powdery, however, during low tide the sand on the deeper end tends to have a more muddy consistency. Nevertheless, the privacy of the beach is really unique and (almost) haveing the beach to yourself along with the free watersport activities provided is an unforgettable and pleasant experience. (No motorised sports are allowed which is really good for the noise levels!). As for the snorkeling there, it is quite poor compared to other beaches on the island as the reef is very deep and the water tends to be murky especially after the rain. Swimming there is definitely recommended as there are little to no jellyfish and the water is cool and refreshing. In conclusion: this is probably one of the most private and exclusive beaches in Langkawi with a soft, powdery sand beach and a well managed sporting facility. I would definately reccomend spending your time there at the resort (along with the other activites of course) By the way, I'm quite sure that the beach is only open to guests at the Datai resort and the andaman. I've seen quite a few one star reviews of people saying that they have no access to the beach, which is true, but leaving a review of a place that you haven't even been too is irresponsible and those reviews should be taken down as they don't accurately repesent the beach itself. So if you are not staying at the resorts that have acess to the beach, driveing there isn't...
Read moreDon’t be misled by the 1-star reviews. Many of them sound like sour grapes. The Datai’s decision to limit outsider access helps preserve the pristine condition of the beach. Without these measures, the area would likely be overrun and polluted like many other public spots. Look at Cenang. This is easily the best beach in Langkawi. It is secluded, clean, and beautifully maintained. I am genuinely impressed with The Datai’s environmental initiatives, both in protecting the sea and conserving the surrounding rainforest. A world-class example of...
Read moreUnfortunately, the beauty of the beaches in this area of Malaysia is overshadowed by the fact that access is limited to resort guests only. It’s regrettable to note that most of the beaches, including this one, have become private property of five-star resorts, thus excluding public access. This is a shameful situation that goes against the open and welcoming spirit one would expect from an island like this. Hopefully, in the future, a more inclusive solution can be found to allow everyone to enjoy the marvelous beaches...
