For me, hiking is about the journey rather than the destination, and the reward is in summiting or completing the journey. But that’s not true of every hiker. I’ve plenty of hiking buddies who won’t sweat it out for anything less than a peak with a view from the top. If that sounds like you, then set your Waze for PD and make towards Bukit Batu Putih.

For views alone, Bukit Batu Putih should top your list. Part of a 200 million year old quartz ridge, this promontory is surrounded by one of the country’s last remaining coastal rainforests, has near pristine blue bays to either side of it, and the straits in front of it stretching for miles until it fades out of sight.

The other reason to visit Bukit Batu Putih is its accessibility. Technically in Melaka it is located on the fringes of Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan, and as hikes go it’s a short one regardless of which route you choose: beach or forest.

At one hour or so, the beach route is longer and harder though considerably more dramatic. Exiting the tarmac road earlier on, it takes  you through the forest down towards the beautiful and deserted Monkey Bay, where you’ll get a flash of the hill’s stony white length peeking out from under the lush green of the scrub. You’ll then have to make your way toward its peak via a steep jungle trail which is passable only during low tide, so checking the tides in advance is a must. The currents here are known to be strong so swimming or wading it may not...

From the entrance... Keep going up using the main pavement road.. Until u found a small hut on the right side and a trash bin.. Next to the trash bin theres a jungle trail that will lead to the beach... And keep on going towards the cape at the end.. And u will find another jungle trail going up and keep following to the right...until u found a stretch of white rocks which is climb able... Keep climbing all the way to the end.. And u will reach the peak around 10 mins...

2nd view is the bird landing trail.. To get there once u reach the light house.. Keep going down towards the entrance until u found 2 signboard with a pictures of birds... Follow the cement trail until the end approx 10 mins and u will found a well on your right.. Keep going straight until there's a small hut and small shelter for campsites... At the end of the campsite there will be another well with clean water(at your own risk) .. The island in front is walkable during the low tide.. a very nice...

Locality in Tanjung Tuan Reserve Forest. Though geography close to Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, it's officially located in Malacca. Bukit Batu Putih has a number of Virgin Coastal Tropical Rainforest with a different trails to explore the truly nature and awesome scenery attracts by local and outsider people. Nice views to chill and hiking to the forest, hill and beach combined together. You can experience all in one at the same time. Mostly people hike up to the historical Cape Rachado Lighthouse and from there go up to Bukit Batu Putih or go down to sandy white beach near Pulau Intan. You also can take another trail from the beachside which's passable during low tide. Challenging and long hike where the fitters of hiker will take more than half hour to reach the summit. Don't litter at the peak, a long the trails, beach or any where else, which ruined the whole experience and may be a bit inconvenient place for...

there 2 ways to get to the peak of bukit batu putih. you can walk up to near the light house. this is all paved street. u can even drive up. right before the parking, you turn into dirt trail. about 15min later you will reach. its easy hike/walk. i took the more adventure way. i turn right after the ticket counter, mostly downhill hike on trail to the beach just below the peak. then you can take an uphill trail to the peak. the view from the to is pretty good. you get to see almost most of PD beach. i made a loop around Tg. Tuan. after the light house, there are staircase down to the beach. well ... a bit of cleanup badly needed. after the beach, the rest of the loop is pretty tough and not well marked. pls bring along a hiking apps if u feel like exploring. i wouldn't advise so hike here. some part is rocky and just by the cliff. A very good 4km loop for me.
