Hi, I went to this farm on the 11th of January with my family and personally it was nothing close to the descriptions mentioned. I was utterly devastated. I used to go there twice, once was around 2007 and once during 2017 and those two times were very different from what I experienced previously.
First of all, the entrance (first impression matters) was very dull and from the entrance itself you can see that the place is quite abandoned. As claimed, we can experience farm-like journey if we enter the PD Ostrich farm but the only 'farm' I can recall was the goats. Other than that were locked donkeys, bald ostriches (super unhealthy and hungry, sorry) and a camel(?) (claimed as station 5, but it was missing during my visit, station 5 was full with unwanted trees and bushes). Also, one of the station claimed to hold the donkeys in it but there were cows instead. I can recall one, only one healthy ostrich but idk why it was kept alone. The last time I went here, one of the ostriches was left outside (under the supervision of the farm-keeper) for visitor to pat and take photos. There were also ostriches that we can ride but this time, it was none.
The farm-keeper offered a horse ride to my brother (12 years and below) for RM5 and the tour ended in like a minute (?). Then, we went for the rabbit farm where the rabbits looked very dirty and uncared. The only healthy animal inside the rabbit farm was the dog they took care of as the guard. There was this one corner of the farm claimed to be the 'Herbal Oasis' but it was locked and from the outside, the so-called herbal plantation looked like jungle.
The souvenir shop sold unwanted things that are not related to the farm (kids toys and hats). The last time I went here, there were frozen ostrich meat, light made out of ostrich egg and ostrich feather duster. I bought the light and the duster once so I came here again to buy more but sadly, there were nothing interesting in the shop. To add, the worker were singing loudly while playing with the phone (dont even bother to offer us the things they were selling).
My family ended the farm-visiting activity in less than 20 minutes. On top of that, the entrance fee was expensive (RM20 for adult and RM15 for kids). I dont really mind the price if it was really worthy but from what I experienced, paying RM120 for the whole family was a waste of money.
I understand that the farm was badly affected by the pandemic but the management team could have done better. I hope that you can improve the condition of the animal and the farm for the future...
Read moreI did not plan to visit this place nor did I know about it while I was in P.D. I took an unexpected turn and just so happened to pass the entrance and it caught my eye.
It was on a weekday afternoon so there was ample parking and minimal crowd.
Entrance fee was only Rm20 for an adult or Rm30 if you include the dino-zone. (Just go for the Rm20 option and skip the dino section, trust me.)
I was pleasantly surprised with the number and variety of animals that was available on display here at this farm.
Not just Ostriches but goats, Horses, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Snakes, a fancy type/species of chicken, a variety of birds and even a donkey.
What Impressed me most was how alive, engaging and interactive the animals were in this farm compared to the ones kept in Zoo Negara.
Ofcourse Zoo Negara has a larger land area and greater number of animals but I have enjoyed my time here in this small farm significantly more than I did during my visits to Zoo Negara.
I find that the animals here are better looked after than the ones in our National Zoo. And because of the smaller land area you are upclose and personal with a decent variety of animals that are more fun to interact and engage with.
Definitely a great place to bring young children and get them to interact with various animals.
Things to do: -Feed the goats -Give Ostrich a neck massage -Feed the Guinea Pigs -Feed the Donkey -Pet a horse -Pet a snake -Feed the Rabbits -Try the Ostrich Satay ( I did not try so can't comment.)
Overall I am most impressed and pleasantly surprised, this farm is small but mighty. It may not be as big as Zoo Negara but it definitely has charm and tender, loving,...
Read morea surprisingly good spot to spend some time with family/friends! tickets are rm25 and rm20 for adults and senior citizens/kids with mykad, so it's quite a reasonable price. the counter lady was also very friendly and welcoming, and she gave us a bunch of vouchers for cafe and other places. you can pay extra for food to feed other animals.
the inside is actually bigger than what i expected with roads that are easy to walk on. animals are very interactive with foods given to them and even a gorgeous ostrich ready to take picture with! thank you puteri the ostrich for such a beautiful picture 🥰 anyway, the abang who takes care of the ostriches was kind to talk to us and even told us how he takes care of them. the people at the cafe were also friendly, everyone was practically friendly and we ended up having a chat with all of them!!
signs can be a bit old though and the writings are not really visible. the dinosaur park isn't as interesting as the others but it's still a good addition for kids to walk around and look at. i appreciate that the ostrich show was just a race instead of teaching them tricks that may endanger their safety.
a lot of parking spot available outside of the farm too. fyi the farm is best to walk with umbrella during a hot weather 😂😂 the kids were practically sweating and tired the...
