Relaxing, you can just hear birds singing. Specially if the weather is nice. Visit soon! If you like nature and have some time you must go there. Bring something to eat and drink. Walk around and then sit on the grass or one of the many prepared places to sit. There are a lot of monkeys. Long walk but nice view. There are a lot of stairs. Great place to bring kids to, if they can handle the stairs and the long walk needed to see everything. There were lots of monkeys on the climb, but none in the actual walk. Enjoy the silence, the nature and the people relaxing. It is free and in my point of view much better than the eco park for example. Absolutely beautiful! From the main gate you will need to walk atleast 700km to see the orchids, but every step is worth it. Singapore is usually very humid, therefore try to miss the midday heat! The entrance fee is refunded for hotel guests of Colmar Tropicale. Re-familiarising with the names of the trees and plants is what we do; lie down on the many wooden benches and listen to birds and insects; look for ant colonies or ant trails and be fascinated with why they are so busy and so organized. I have never seen ants fight each other. Unwind from the stress of life in the city. Stop by the Japanese restaurant for a cup of green tea. You will not see flowers at every turn, but the flowers and the sculptures are beautiful! Great place for a picture or...
Read morePlease be careful and make sure your car have the actual power to go up the steep hill to this place. Aruz with full capacity is quite a challenge. By the time we reach the top start some burning smell. Luckily the car was okay as we just recently did maintenance work. However, one unlucky visitor's car engine (I think it was an old Honda SUV) totally burning and smoking berasap.
Anyhow, to get to Japanese village you'll have to climb a steep and high staircase. Not advisable for old people to come here and certainly NOT SUITABLE for wheelchair and stroller.
There is no road for us to drop off old folks and kids. And no buggy service even. It's steep walk up the hill from the staircase to the main attraction. Not much to see honestly, some Japanese traditional house, then a shop, down the hill is a botanical garden. The garden is well maintained, the usual flowers/plants that you find any place else is double the size in this garden (must be the local weather and fertile...

Japanese Garden & Botanical Garden is at the same place
PARKING: Free. Not that many but not that many tourists either. There is also shuttle bus from colmar tropical.
Need to hike, starting from the carpark. If you have elderly, skip the carpark and drop your passengers at the top first.
Once you past the staffs checking ticket, go left for Japanese Garden and go right for Botanical Garden.
BOTANICAL GARDEN IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ELDERLY, lots of stairs and hiking
the garden is quite big. and since there's not many tourists, it does gets creepy walking alone, along the unmaintained path.
There are seats along the pathway, just enjoy the greeneries. Nothing really stands out except for this one nice looking red...
