We took a 5 day, 4 night jungle tour with mat leon village and we had a really nice and amazing time ! ||His home/village is a little off the town (KT), you are with his family in a lovely, silent jungle. There is no wifi and we loved not being connected for 5 days. It was so relaxing and we felt connected with the jungle.||He is very passionate about the jungle and promotes ECOTravel. We had the chance to see monkeys, varans, plenty of different insects, snakes, spiders, birds, a cat leopard, elephant foot prints etc etc ||It was my first time in the jungle and I realized how hard it is to trek with 32°C, the path is slippery and a lot of branches, trees everywhere. You need to be in good shape ! We carried 3 bottles of water but know that on the way there are a lot of clear water streams, you can fill up your own bottles and put in tablets, and economize plastic bottles.||There were not too many leeches on the trek as it was a little dry or else we put some salt on our shoes and they really didn't like it !||The ecosystem is so well in the forest that there are no flies or insects, no use to buy and carry a insecticide. Actually its really not eco friendly to spray it.||We slept 2 nights in the village in super clean rooms and 1 night in the cave and another in the observation tower.||I loved the experience and exchange. ||||(Hope the Malaysian government will not cut down more trees in the jungle to plant palm trees...
Read moreWe love this place! The Mat Leon Village is a real family business run by Mat Leon since 13 years. We have been looking for the perfect nature experience and found it there. We stayed there for 3 nights and it was just perfect. ||The Mat Leon village is a 10 minutes’ walk from the commercial village away, it´s quiet and in the middle of nature. The Rooms are simple, but lovely and clean. The restaurant has awesome Malaysian dishes, it was so delicious we ate three times the day there. ||You have a lovely view over the river, the chicken chasing each other around the village and you can even jump in the river. Maybe you will be lucky to spot a leopard on the other side of the riverbank. ||We did the nighttour and the tour to the observation tower in the middle of the national park. Both was excellent. Each time we got Mat Leon as our Guide and he was fantastic! We felt save and have been impressed by all his knowledge. Both tours are a must-do!||If we come back to Malaysia we will definitely stay at Mat Leon Village again. Who looks for an ECO-Acommondation at it´s best, you will find it a Mat...
Read moreI went to visit Taman Negara just for one night and we stayed in the room with no air conditioning for RM 90.00 love it! It's clean small and just nice for a night stay. The food was ok but I didn't had my dinner there because it's cheaper at town but the owner are very attentive especially for the package. For us it's quite expensive but they said they are following the rate of Taman Negara. As for breakfast it's simple and if u are particular about cleanliness you can bring ur own. Some people doesn't want to share. They offer varieties of package but please be very precise on your request. The last tour that we did was Kelah sanctuary and Lata Berkoh for RM 60 and it was explained to us that the boat man will actually wait for us but we were left on our own and they will pick us up at 330 p.m but the owner of mat Leon was so nice they understand and didn't charge us for Late check out. Basically you can deal directly with them since they offer many...
