I think this is the most beautiful temple in Sandakan, and perfectly located on top of the hill facing the sea. There are quite a few Chinese Temples around Sandakan but this one stands out.
The Buddhist temple is open to all, and you need to remove your shoes a d slippers before entering the main hall. Please be respectful and follow the rules whenever you visit a religious place. You are allowed to take photos and video. The view from the front of the time allows you to see the Sandakan bay area. Toilets are located outside.

It is not far from the main City of Sandakan, aproximately 4KM from central city . If you seek a place to travel here in Sandakan, Puu Jih Syh Temple is definitely a place that you do not want to miss! Read moreOh no... At the first try to go up to, ya know, the Temple, our car went up the "wrong direction" but it's still probably the right direction. Up a school. Second try after visiting the Agnes Keith House, our GPS was successful! We were on time and, we weren't on time, it closed its doors on us....... Um, I got to see the arch and the exterior of the Temple, apparently they're making another one down below. Pictures were taken. The Buddha statues stand there blissfully in the high stratosphere overlooking the gleaming sea.. I'm being overly poetic....
