Hussin Fauzi Farm houses a decent number of animals, but the animal welfare standards are seriously concerning. The conditions are, frankly, atrocious. I saw a pelican in an enclosure with no water, and a Japanese Tanuki was all by itself in a cage with nothing in it—no food, no water, and no enrichment. This seems like a basic requirement for any animal. The parrot was in a very small cage, and some of the larger bird sections were just a bunch of different birds crammed into small spaces. It's not just the birds, either. The goat section was dark and depressing with nothing for the animals to do. The fish tanks were completely empty of decorations, offering zero stimulation for the fish. Even some of the animals themselves, like the emu, had matted fur, which suggests a lack of proper grooming. The cat enclosures were in a terrible, sorry state and clearly need attention. The well-being of the horse used for rides is also a major worry. With only one horse available, it's likely being overworked and exhausted from constant rides. On top of that, the rusty metal decorations around the park pose a real safety risk, especially for children. Lastly, the visitor experience could be improved. A small cup of food to feed the animals costs an outrageous RM5, and they only accept cash. This feels exploitative, especially given the poor conditions the animals are living in. Overall, while the attraction has the potential to be great, the current state of animal welfare and public safety is unacceptable and needs to be addressed...
Read moreA petting zoo is a nice idea for kids, but it's poorly managed, with no staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals. The smaller animals are kept in open enclosures, allowing visitors—especially children—to pick them up, and the terrified animals have nowhere to escape to. Without any supervision, I saw animals being mistreated, squeezed and poked, and I often stepped in to ask the children to stop. I strongly urge the management to take immediate action to have staff nearby to watch over and educate the visitors on how to handle animals. If these issues are not addressed, this place shouldn't be allowed to keep animals. The rest of the park is very nice, so it's a shame this farm was so...
Read moreIf you feel like seeing a bunch of really cool animals kept in atrocious enclosures with their basic needs barely being met, then this is the place for you. If you feel like getting your eyes pecked out by the resident ostrich that roams the grounds freely hassling visitors for a carrot, then this is also the place for you. Really, what a shame that more care and attention doesn’t go into caring for these animals because it wouldn’t take much. It’s run down, smelly and you really shouldn’t supper this type of...
