Thoddoo Island is a small, picturesque island in the Maldives, located in the Alif Alif Atoll, about 67 kilometers west of the capital, Malé. It is known for its lush greenery, white-sand beaches, and thriving agricultural industry, particularly for its delicious watermelons, which are famous throughout the Maldives. Here’s a closer look at what makes Thoddoo special: Agricultural Hub: Thoddoo stands out as one of the few Maldivian islands with a strong agricultural presence. The island produces watermelons, papayas, and other fresh produce, which are supplied to many resorts and markets in the Maldives. Secluded Beaches: Thoddoo has several beautiful beaches with white sand and clear turquoise water, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. Unlike the resort islands, Thoddoo is more low-key, offering a more laid-back and natural experience without large crowds. Great Snorkeling and Diving: Surrounding coral reefs make it a great spot for snorkeling and diving. The waters around Thoddoo are home to vibrant marine life, including colorful fish, turtles, and coral species. Local Island Experience: As a local island, Thoddoo offers an authentic Maldivian experience, with traditional island life and opportunities to connect with the local community. It’s ideal for travelers interested in experiencing the culture and hospitality of the Maldives beyond the resort life. Accommodation and Dining: Thoddoo has an array of guesthouses and small hotels, catering to tourists who prefer a budget-friendly and immersive experience. There are also local cafes and restaurants serving traditional Maldivian dishes, fresh seafood, and international cuisine.

Thoddoo provides a serene and authentic Maldivian experience for travelers seeking beautiful beaches and an escape from the busy resort scene. Its emphasis on agriculture and local life offers a unique contrast to many other islands in...

No a teď, v roce 2025 jsme se vrátili a ráj už tam nebyl.

Quite nice and busy Maldivian beach with (broken) sunbeds, trashbins, showers, wc, nearby local merchant with fruits. Water sports equipment rental on beach.

You can see corals, fishes, turtles, mosquitos, ants, spiders, parrots. But not many species of fish nor amount due to broken dead corals.

Sometimes trash littered on beach, roads, under greenery, in water.

Many russian tourists around, menus in restaurants on island are accustomed to them, if you are one...
