This is a rather unusual beach. You get a mix of some different realities found in Malta: the sight of a small village with natural coastline on the one side, and, on the other side, you'll have the industrial view of the Malta Freeport; one of the busiest international trade ports in Europe.
It is a sandy beach that has a huge area of shallow waters, which is quite ideal for people who are not yet very confident of their swimming skills.
There are different kinds of amenities for one's enjoyment in this area. Surrounding the beach are several food and entertainment establishments. There are also some sports facilities around. However, my favourite places nearby are the ones that possess more historical and cultural dimensions, like Għar Dalam Cave with artefacts dating back up to 7400 years ago; Borġ in-Nadur, a prehistoric settlement from the Bronze Age; a monument commemorating the Malta Summit of December 1989 between Bush and Gorbachev, which is widely believed to be one of the most important political summits that happened after the end of World War II; and finally, I will have to mention Bengħisa: an area nearby that is full of little gems of its own.
One can easily plan an interesting day, learning about and exploring the culturally rich area surrounding Pretty Bay, while also including some downtime on the beach; relaxing, having a refreshing drink, savouring some tasty food and having an...
Read moreThe beach was realy nice. Clean sand beautiful beach. Basend on other reviews here must be a clear water. But on out expierence the water was not clear, youn can't see fishes or bottom. But the water was clean, and a little bit colder comparing with other island side. We take a 2 sunbeds with umbrella. It cost 13€. The service of sunbeds was perfect. The day was windy, and a service guys always carrying umbrella to stay strong fixed in the sand. You can leave sunbeds and go to restaurant with kepping it for you with no extra charge. We spent all day ant felt resting like after good quiet day on the beach. Here few peaple only, the beach was not crowded. I'm also enjoyed of landing...
Read moreBy far one of the nicest beaches in Malta. What's interesting is that it has sandy beach, and shallow waters. At one ens the bay is for kids and on another is deeper for adults. Here you can find from restaurants, shops, playground for kids, a garden and swimming club. The beach is always busy on the weekends and people are always finding a spot to sit. Kids enjoy this place and some spend all day just having fun. Restaurants are very close and getting a quick bite is easy. Toilets are not around unless you count the sea. Parking is hard to find as its a busy area but in the morning and evening its...
