The Blue Lagoon in Malta is a stunning natural wonder that captivates visitors with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and breathtaking scenery. Located on the small island of Comino, nestled between Malta and Gozo, the Blue Lagoon is renowned for its vibrant, almost otherworldly color, making it one of the most iconic and photographed destinations in the Maltese archipelago. The lagoon’s shallow, calm waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. Visitors can enjoy the rich marine life beneath the surface, as well as the smooth sandy seabed that enhances the lagoon’s clarity. For snorkeling enthusiasts, the area offers a unique opportunity to observe fish and underwater rock formations up close. During peak season, the Blue Lagoon is a popular spot, drawing travelers from all over the world. While it can get crowded, arriving early in the morning or taking a boat tour later in the afternoon allows for a more serene experience. For those looking to escape the crowds, nearby coves and inlets offer quieter spots to unwind and soak in the beauty. Facilities around the Blue Lagoon are limited but adequate, with food stalls, sunbeds, and umbrellas available for rent. Adventurous visitors can also explore Comino’s rugged landscape, including the Crystal Lagoon and the island’s caves, which add an extra layer of excitement to the experience. The Blue Lagoon is not just a paradise for swimmers and sunbathers but also a haven for photographers and nature lovers. Its surreal blue waters and picturesque surroundings make it a must-visit destination when exploring Malta. Whether you’re spending a few hours or an entire day, the Blue Lagoon promises unforgettable memories of relaxation and natural beauty.

The most popular place to visit in Malta. Came here on a boat tour and enjoyed our time here swimming around and exploring. Was very busy but still had a lovely time. Nestled in the channel between Comino and Cominotto, and easily accessible from both Malta and Gozo. With a sandy beach on the island of Comino, and a larger one on Cominotto, the splendid turquoise waters are the crowning glory of this idyllic swimspot. A mere 25 minutes away from Malta by ferry, there are also day boat trips available, treating visitors to a tour of the lagoon and caves. It’s a great place to spend a day to relax, swim and snorkel and the views never tire. Be warned, however: This place gets BUSY in summer (July-September) and your best bet during that period is taking a boat trip there later in the day or going early in the morning. Sun-beds and umbrellas available, as well as a large selection of beach kiosks selling a wide assortment of food and drinks. There are also beach lockers you can rent for the day. Bathroom and shower are also available free of charge.

Two stars for the absolutely amazing landscape and views. However it is majorly overcrowded, there is literally nowhere to step on the rocks, let alone put a towel or stick an umbrella... and it’s corona times - what must be happening there when there is no corona...?! Full of loud teenagers playing loud music, which is also being played from the shopping stalls. The atmosphere is noisy and tacky - it has nothing to do with a relaxing time. I feel they should only let the first 20 or 30 people per day, not 300 every hour, in order to preserve the nature and the landscape. If you end up there anyway, make sure you transfer to Cominotto which is a smaller island opposite Comino. You can get there by a water taxi (€5) or just swim across, it is around 10 mins swim. The tickets to get to Comino are also way overpriced (€13 pp).

It is a very popular destination among tourists, many of them young and uneducated, leaving a lot of trash behind. There are THOUSANDS upon thousands of people coming by boats every day, even during the weekdays!!! The rocks are literally COVERED IN TRASH and in the evening all the RATS come out, there's a lot of them!!! This is a danger to health!!! In the morning the staff selling fast food in the bay cleans the rocks so the tourists won't be sent away by it, but in the evening it is a sad and horrible view. The local authorities should really do something about this, putting up stricter fines and limiting the amount of boats coming to this place.

Not what we expected and too overestimated. We went there from Sliema with a cruise that cost 50 euros but there were some others with less benefits with the cost of 30 euros. The place is beautiful but not as much as we believed and all the beauty fades away because of the too many tourists. You will not enjoy your time there, it is overcrowded and full of rough rocks and the little space with sand is occupied by umbrellas and sunbeds which you should pay to sit crammed in. It was okay that we visited it to get an idea of what it's like, but would not go again and eventually it wasn't worth it. There are better places to swim around Europe.

This is footage from September, supposedly a quieter period compared to June and July. You will arrive by boat or ferry and immediately you are surrounded by throngs of people on a comically tiny piece of beach. There are other beaches but they are a good 20 minute walk and we were told they are equally busy. I can't say I enjoyed myself here to be honest, there're just too many people unfortunately. There are food trucks and toilets, but no one lives on the island so apart from that not much is going on. Of course the water itself is crystal clear, sandy and pretty but the crowds make it not worth it
