The water is unbelievably clear — a beautiful shade of turquoise — and you can see straight down to the seabed. We visited by boat and anchored nearby, then jumped straight into the water for a swim. The cliffs surrounding the lagoon give it a dramatic and picturesque feel.

Read moreI recommend seeing these beautiful shores and caves from a boat. We visited them with a combined boat trip from Mgarr (Gozo) to Blue Lagoon, Comino for €10/each. These boat trips are easy to find in the harbor of Mgarr, because a lot of "advertising agents" are selling them. I know it sounds like a tourist trap, but in my opinion it was a better experience than going with the "official" big ferry, which is cheaper, but only drops you off in blue lagoon beach. And remember to bargain! They will sell it to you for €10, but the starting price...
