The island is a photo opportunity at every turn. I walked to the fort taking photos on the lagoon side to my right as I went. Some choose to walk to the other side of the island where there is a sandy beach. The sandy beach where the boat stops at the lagoon is miniscule. 10 persons and it is crowded. Further round there are deckchairs on rocks. Luckily, I arrived at 0920 hrs and walked in peace. The awful part. When I made enquiries at the Comino Co op ferry service outside my hotel. The man in the kiosk has an awful negative attitude. He hates his job.. 7 odd days later when I went to buy my ticket, he kept talking on his mobile for 3 minutes until he was ready. A very rude man. There were 3 of us on that boat. Myself and I am brown skinned. An oriental man, and a French woman in her thirties. Part of the trip entails visiting caves. Other boats, not of this company, I saw visit in a sedate manner. Our driver, with 2 henchmen piloted his boat as if he was in a race bouncing off the rock hard waves like going over a Traffic calming measure at speed. Wrenching at my arm sockets. Pictures if caves will have to wait for another time. Awful service from top to bottom. Picked up the oriental gentleman from Cirkewwa. They dropped him off at our hotel quay and directed him to the bus stop. I noticed undertones of racism and jealousy of well off dark skinned foreigners while here. The staff of this boat company were tops at bad service. Comino Island is brilliant. I noticed a couple of companies based om M'garr Gozo that also go to Comino. Hindsight is a...
Read moreFellow googlers, this is heaven on earth, I mean forget what you saw before, this is were gods come for lunch, I also heard that Nemo run away to come here (the lad didnt get lost). You will want to stay f.o.r.e.v.e.r. Please leave everything behind and come to enjoy your time just admiring and absorving nature, leave your phone at home and bring your swim suit, wait bring your phone, but just for pictures, reception is not great in any case, you dont need reception here. You can take a small nutshell boat from cirkewwa, I also believe there are ferries from gozo (these are private so the prices may vary depending on the season). There is a path that will take you around the island, should take between 3-4h for a slow stroll along this lovely place. visit the fort, crystal bay and st mary bay. This is a a diving heaven, unfortunately we didnt have opportunity to go but if you do please let us know. Enjoy yourselves in this little...
Read moreA beautiful place to visit, but gets very busy so I suggest going on a week day and avoiding the height of summer, and taking the earliest boat you can. When you get there it is well worth swimming over to the islet opposite to explore the caves while it's quiet. We then did the Comino walk advertised on the Visit Gozo site, it's fairly easy going but can get hot and there is no shade, and will allow you to see the whole island, and to uh will be very grateful when you reach the Santa Maria Bay which is absolutely gorgeous. Worth paying to take the cave boat tour but ensure you arrive early at the dock to be collected as it's easy to miss your boat with all the different tour operators there. There is plenty of fast food available but it gets really really busy by the blue lagoon. Overall though it's well worth visiting and once you head away from the main throng it's very quiet and you can see lots of...
