Blue Lagoon Lockers — Local services in Għajnsielem

I spent the day on Comino and used these lockers to spare me carrying everything around in the heat. It was early October and the lockers were priced at 5 Euros for a small locker (purse/handbags/bumbag size) and 7.50 for a medium size (backpacks). I didn't see anything on sale that was larger than that.

I actually think that this is a really good idea and a good service, my only annoyance was that when I went back to my locker to pick something up before swimming (you can come and go as many times as you like during the day, another benefit of these lockers) the owner (Tony I presume) told me that he only had one other bag to be picked up and not to be too long as he wanted to get home. I didn't want to create any bad feeling so I politely told him that I had been hiking around the island and hadn't yet had a swim, besides that he had told me the closing time earlier and there was a sign up with the closing times clearly stated. I still had an hour left! He said he was fine about it but again repeated that the only other bag still in his lockers were just being pulled out by their owners and I now had the only bag in it - essentially stopping him from closing up early and going home. I stuck to my guns and headed off for a quick swim in the amazing lagoon, trying to hurry the best I could but determined to that swim in. I returned a good 20 minutes before closing time and took my belongings, he closed up, hooked the thing on his 4x4 and all I saw after that was dust.

Tony, the owner of the locker was helpful and quickly guided us through setting the pin for our locker. A small locker costs €5, a large locker costs €7 and two large lockers cost €12. The large locker (which we felt was medium sized) can snugly fit a regular sized backpack. They accept both cash and card although it appeared that Tony preferred cash over card payments. You can access the locker as many times as you want throughout the day. The price appeared a tad expensive given its size but it was the only convenient and secured place to leave our belongings. I strongly warn you against using the Blue Lagoon lockers. I was with my friends putting our things inside the lockers, and a man from the staff was unbelievably disrespectful. He shouted at us to hurry up and move, even though we were doing our best. Even worse, he physically pushed us, which is completely unacceptable. When I tried to speak up, he started arguing with us even more. A truly unpleasant experience — I definitely do not recommend. Je déconseille fortement les lockers du Blue Lagoon.
